I know, I know, a dolphin is a mammal, but it just doesn't rhyme otherwise.
Laveranues Coles was named team MVP today and the timing couldn't be better. Coles owns the Dolphins and I'm expecting more of the same on Monday Night. In 11 games against the Dolphins, Coles has scored nine touchdowns. A repeat of his 106-yard 2 TD performance from their earlier meeting in October and the Jets will be sitting pretty.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Get the Miami crowd out of it early. Is it just me or are there more Dolphins fans in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area than in the entire state of Florida?
2. Neutralize Jason Taylor. As much as he embodies what I hate about the Dolphins, he is having his best season and has always played well against the Jets.
3. Pressure Joey Harrington. Here's a guy I thought was a lock to be a solid NFL QB when the Lions drafted him. Boy, was I dead wrong. Also, there comes a point when you have to drop the "y" from your first name. C'mon Joe, you're not 12 years old anymore.
Here are a few of the classics these teams have played through the years in case anyone needs to be sold on this game.
The Ken O'Brien vs. Dan Marino shoot-out in 1986 (51-45 Jets in OT). The Dan Marino fake spike at the Meadowlands in 1994 (28-24 Dolphins). The Monday Night Miracle in 2000 (40-37 Jets in OT. Jets trailed 30-7 in fourth quarter).
I don't need to see another classic, just a win and a continued push toward the playoffs.

I would have to disagree with Key #3.
