Don't call it a Comeback . . .

Okay, maybe you can.  Chad Pennington won the award you only want to win once - if at all - the Comeback Player of the Year award today beating out fellow QBs Drew Brees and Carson Palmer.

Pennington embodied what the New York Jets were all about this season.  His heart, determination and drive were key to the Jets successful year.  He put up impressive numbers with two rookies on the offensive line (in fairness, Mangold and Ferguson both had outstanding first-year campaigns) and lacked a consistent running attack.

So, in a sports world where selfishness and indifference are repeatedly rewarded (see T.O. and Rex Grossman), it’s nice to see kudos go to a guy who still believes in teamwork and character.

Bri: Don't worry - McNabb will be in the running for the award next year. Patrick: Grab the clipboard and be silent.

McNabb had more touchdowns this year than Pennington did, in 6 less games. I just took a look at Pennington's numbers, 17 TDs, 16 INTs. Those aren't exactly numbers to crow about. I hope Mangina cooks up a good game plan.

Mike,

If that's the case, Rex Grossman was robbed, he should've been MVP.

Condolences Mike. At least it's not too long until the pitchers and catchers report.

McScrb won't be winning any awards next year, unless they start giving out 'Best Back-up QB' awards.

That's Jeff's team now.
