The news gets worse and worse.
Carl Pavano will be visiting Dr. James Andrews on Thursday, a man no athlete wants to see, regarding the pain in his forearm.
Pavano hasn't pitched since April 9 and in all probability won't be pitching for the Yankees anytime soon.
This situation comes on the heels of Jeff Karstens breaking his leg on Saturday and Phil Hughes straining his hamstring on Tuesday. Right now the Yankees have four healthy starters (and I use the term loosely) in Andy Pettitte, Mike Mussina (who will be returning from his strained hamstring on Thursday), Chien-Ming Wang (who's cracked fingernail will not keep him from starting on Saturday) and Kei Igawa.
Matt DeSalvo may get the nod for Sunday, but the Yankees don't have anyone as of yet for Monday.
I urge anyone who possesses a good fastball and an off-speed pitch to contact the New York Yankees at:
Yankee Stadium
161st Street
Bronx, NY 10451
The Yanks need you.

If Carl Pavano was a horse he would have been shot already. In fact someone please kill Pavano so the Yankees do not have to pay him any more. The man should be in jail for grand larceny. What kind of athlete doesn't even make a effort to play and just sits at home collecting a paycheck.
