Is there no decency anymore?
I'll answer that rhetorical question -- no.
The NFL is investigating a claim that the New England Patriots used a video camera to steal signals from the Jets defensive coaches on Sunday.
And so another chapter is written in the Jets-Patriots rivalry.

How much did the "spying" play into the Patriots' 38-14 pasting of the Jets on Sunday? Not enough to make me believe that the all-seeing eye was the only reason for the lopsided outcome, but it does make my red-hot disdain for New England burn a little deeper.
A member of the league's competition committee, who did not want to be identified stated, "It's not their first time."
Hey, that's great.
The bizarre thing is -- the Patriots are a very good team (better than I thought they would be at the beginning of the season) and don't need to spy on other team's signals. It's just another sad episode in a sports world that has seemingly disintegrated into nothing more than one tawdry tale after another. Winning is the only thing that matters -- no matter how you achieve it.
Bruce Paine has a write-up about this latest sports "scandal" and did a really good job. Sadly, there are times when I question why I invest so much time following sports when the spirit of competition is often so blurred you can't make heads or tails out of it.
The Jets got whipped on Sunday -- plain and simple. But this latest event does rub a little salt in the wound.
Just when I thought I couldn't hate the Patriots any more -- they give me another reason.

Boston, and everything about it, sucks in every way possible.
