I guess a New York Jet will be making the Pro Bowl after all.
A member of the Jets Flight Crew was chosen to
represent Gang Green in Hawaii on Feb. 10. Once again, I'm a tad late in reading about this, but I still want to give the Flight Crew their due. This past season was Year 1 for the Jets' 10-member dance team and the NFL responded by inviting one lucky lady to showcase the Green and White. And that woman will be
Linda from Massapequa, N.Y. Here's what choreographer Denise Garvey had to say about the Long Island native:
“I think Linda all-around is a very good representative for the Flight Crew. Any
of the girls on the team would have been an excellent choice. I
sat down with people in the organization and we went through some names out
there. It wasn’t as easy as you might think because each girl each has different special
qualities.”
She's also pretty darn cute, so congrats Linda and make us proud in Honolulu.

In other Jets-related news (sort of), it looks like Rob Ryan is staying in Oakland. Or is he? On Thursday it was
reported that the Silver and Black's defensive coordinator would remain in the Bay Area, but on Friday all Hell broke loose on the West Coast. In case you missed it, Raiders owner Al Davis reportedly wants head coach
Lane Kiffin out after only one season. Supposedly there was some friction between Kiffin and Ryan and this latest train wreck in Raider Land could mean that both guys will be getting kicked to the curb soon.
The Jets are also reportedly interested in Ryan's twin brother
Rex. Rex was the defensive coordinator in Baltimore this past year, but failed to land the job as that team's head coach. That vacancy was filled by John Harbaugh. Speculation is that the Ravens could hire Rex to return as defensive coordinator, but who knows for sure what's going to happen in this wacky league. However, one thing does seem certain. It appears that the Jets current defensive play-caller Bob Sutton's days are numbered in New York. It must be hard for Sutton to hear about the Jets searching for defensive coordinators while he's still employed by the team.
Maybe Sutton should get out of town for a while.
I hear Hawaii is nice.

I believe Rob Ryan will be around a lot longer than Lane Kiffin. With the exception of last year, the Raiders defense has been their strongpoint since their downward spiral started following their Superbowl lost to Tampa Bay. It was rumored that Lane wanted to bring his dad Monte Kiffin, defensive coordinator of the Tampa Bay Bucs, onboard to be his DC. I like Rob Ryan and apparently so does Al Davis as he forced him upon Lane. I just don't understand why Al didn't make Rob the head coach following the departure of Art Shell.
Once again Al Davis has created another mess for the Raiders. And the players and fans will have to suffer through this drama which should be reserved for the MTV reality show the Hills.
