A Little Game of Cat and Mouse

Pitcher vs. Batter.  Seems pretty straight forward, doesn't it?

Not when the Staten Island Yankees and Brooklyn Cyclones get together.

In case you missed it, ambidextrous Yankees Single-A pitcher Pat Venditte and switch-hitting Ralph Henriquez danced a little dance on Sunday.  Here's the clip. Enjoy!

That's awesome. It looks like he was throwing 88-89 w/ his right arm, with a nasty hook. I wonder what he throws w/ his left.

According to the story he "slings close to sidearm in the low 80s with his left."

from what i understand the rules say it's illegal to change throwing sides in the middle of an at-bat. the avantage goes to the switch hitter not switch pitcher in this situation. that said i think it's very cool that he can do that. even cooler if he can develop both sides enough to be able to that in the majors.

Huh! Flippin through the rule book, eh? Yeah, that would be pretty cool if he could do that at the Major League level.
