What the?
The Jets signed
Ty Law to what appears to be a one-year deal Monday night. To make room, Gang Green cut former second-round pick Justin Miller.
I don't understand this move at all. Law hasn't played all season, is 34-years-old and seems a bit -- how to put this -- doughy to me. And Eric Mangini said that Law has a good chance to play Thursday night against the New England Patriots.

Am I missing something?
Rookie Dwight Lowery has had a rough couple of weeks, but played well against the Rams on Sunday (I know, I know, that's not saying all that much, but still). I'd be more comfortable with Lowery, Hank Poteat or even David Barrett at corner rather than Law at this point in his career.
Miller has been injured most of the season and was active for only one game this year. Still, he's young (24), healthy (I think) and has made plays on special teams (a Pro Bowler in 2006) during his short career. I don't know why the Jets are giving up on him.
It's been reported that the Pats were also interested in Law, but the five-time Pro Bowler chose the Jets.
Maybe I am missing something.
