The Boys Are Back In Town

The two biggest pieces to the Jets' offense are back in camp.

Leon Washington reported to Gang Green's organized team activity sessions Monday, ending his three-week holdout.  This comes on the heels of Thomas Jones' arrival to OTAs on May 27.

I think this calls for a little Thin Lizzy.

Both players are still without new contracts, but this is positive news -- at least, from the team's perspective.  I still believe Washington will get a new deal, but I think TJ will be left in the cold.

Time will tell.

Still, it's great to have the boys back in town.

I hear that thomas jones is on the trading block. Not sure if it's just posturing to get him to sign a deal or they really would consider trading him and going with greene and washington. maybe they want an impact receiver?

Rex Ryan called the rumors "ridiculous," but this team has had a tendency to say one thing and do another. Still, I don't think they would trade him. I don't think Leon Washington is an every-down back and Shonn Greene is unproven. Throw in the uncertainty at QB and it doesn't seem to make much sense to trade Jones.

And they don't want to sign Jones to a new deal. They want to pay him his $900,000 for this season and then waive him goodbye.

I heard that the JETS are interested in Brandon Marshall. The Broncos are supposedly looking for a 1st and 2nd round pick and the JETS are trying to negotiate. Apparently Marshall didn't travel to seattle with the team wither and there doesn't seem to be a reason. have you heard anything about this.
btw they named sanchez the starter today.

That's been the talk around town. Marshall's a great receiver, but he's a nut case. He's also coming off hip surgery and is in the final year of his contract. The Jets could definitely use him, but I don't think a deal will get done.

Yeah -- good for Sanchez, but I think he won it by default. Clemens should have been way ahead of him and he wasn't. Hopefully, Sanchez will play better than he did against the Ravens once the regular season kicks off.
